Club shaped, coarsely wrinkled lengthwise, apex rounded, pale yellow when young, brownish with age, surface staining orange with KOH, about 8 to 30 cm tall

Habitat

On soil in woods, favouring beech, solitary or in groups

Spores ellipsoidal, smooth (8.5-16.5) x (4.5-8) µm2
